Syntax is published three times yearly. It is edited by writer & filmmaker CS Leigh.
The first in the series THE ANNOTATED SPECTACLE was launched at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2009. Each edition has a theme & includes contributions from the practices of fashion, visual art, music, performance, literature, & film.
All content is newly commissioned specifically for each edition.
CS Leigh is a writer & filmmaker. His films include FAR FROM CHINA (2001) with Marianne Faithfull & Lambert Wilson & original score by Suede, PROCESS (2005) starring Beatrice Dalle & Guillaume Depardieu which was featured in over 35 international film festivals including Berlin where it was in the Official Selection & Edinburgh where it was nominated for the Michael Powell Award for Best British Film of the Year, & SEE YOU AT REGIS DEBRAY (2008) about a month Andreas Baader spent on the run in Paris in 1969. NOBODY FUCKS NICO (2010) & NEVER FAR FROM PLACE VENDOME (2011) a documentary about Ralph Rucci are currently being prepared for release. He continues work on AMERICAN WIDOW a cinematic essay which chronicles post-9/11 America.
Syntax Print publishes fiction & non-fiction books.
Syntax Music publishes vinyl & cd editions.
Syntax Cinema publishes dvds in limited edition.
